About us

Urja is a Canadian NGO that aims to fundraise in Canada and collaborate with kshamata to support rehabilitation of girls and women in Mumbai . Kshamata is a small NGO that works to provide rehabilitation to girls rescued from sex trafficking.

Urja at a Glance

Urja was initiated and founded by Priti Gami Shah after forming a relationship with Kshamata in Mumbai. Click here for more information about Priti Gami Shah.

In 2018 Priti researched Mumbai organizations and government homes for two years in Mumbai was able to connect with Kshamata, a grassroots NGO. We shared similar values which supported transformative processes with a holistic approach that upheld the values of love , acceptance, and respect.

This was a start of an authentic relationship with the staff and the rescued girls.( Priti was able to initiate  trips with rescued girls/women and couple staff for fun, adventure and building relationship).

Priti Gami Shah will be personally involved in implementing and supporting the values of respect, non-judgment, fairness, dignity, creativity, sustainable employment and quality of life in all processes and practices.
